@snowgirl114 Thats right, The Stones are an active band, The Beatles haven’t played for decades. There is nothing new to write about the Beatles, simple. That is however not what I am talking about, I am talking about the opinions of critics and ‘professionals’ in the business who think they know what they are talking about.

@KoivuTheHab I never said they were the best, and there are people who have, but you know better than to listen to them. Everyone is going to label their favorite group as the “best.” That’s just opinion and adulation. I don’t know what comments or praise and what amounts you have heard about the Beatles over the years, but where I live and from the media here, I hear more about the Stones being the best. The Beatles’s songs and images don’t crop up here often for them to be overhyped – today.

Yes the Kinks and Stones are perhaps ‘overrated’ but no where near the Beatles. Yes the Beatles were very influential but that doesn’t mean they made the best music, just because they were perhaps the most popular doesn’t mean they were even close to the best or the most creative…

I’ve listened to some who are awful and don’t even compare to the Beatles. Even the Kinks and Stones are overrated. If the Beatles are the “most overrated band in the history of music” then they have company. Period.
